There are two examples of these very valuable carpets at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the other at the Los Angeles Museum of Art, part of 50 world-renowned masterpieces.
Usually these rugs are woven symmetrically.The pattern follows the Caucasian, gable and closet rugs. And the difference with the Caucasian rug is in the lenght of the carpet and usage of more patterns around the carpet. Geometric ornaments have a well-known role in these carpets.
The following colors are used in Ardabil carpets: light green, Cream, White, amber, copper.

The strands and weaves on these carpets are made of cotton. Senneh rugs is in this group with soft knots and less durability. Ardabil carpet is a blend of Iranian and Caucasian art.
