Baluch rug

These rugs are woven in eastern Iran. The shapes in these carpets are taken from residents living environment and their way of life. Broken lines, simple shapes and dark colors are the characteristics of these carpets.

Baluch rugs are very soft, durable and stable because of high quality wool of Baluch sheep. The carpet is woven by the Baluchi people who were nomads. The main wool in these carpets is made of sheep but also it is used goat's and camel's wool.

These carpets are characterized by their dark red color that is found in most Baluch rugs.

Yarns are painted with natural dyes. An orange colour is made of henna, brown is produced from walnuts, red- from the grape leaves.

The texture of these carpets is 1,600 knots in 10 cm.

Baluch rugs have several designs:altar, frame, Arab woven, Toranje, birds, Tree, Shrub, Cashmere.
