Ghashghai carpet
These carpets are generally woven in Shiraz, in Fars. Women and girls are responsible for the texture of these rugs.
The design of the is old and modest. These rugs are generally manufactured for household consumption and are less woven for selling.
The frame for weaving the carpet lies on the ground. There is no plan on the paper for the texture and the weaver does the texture work with his mind and old roles. Colors were anciently plant-based but now are used chemical colors too. About ten colors are used in the Ghashghai carpet. The main color is dark red that is used in the center and on the border of the carpet. You can notice blue, turquoise and green colors in the middle. Indigo dye is also widely used.
Ghashghai carpets are not large in width, they are soft and thin.
