Kashan Carpet

Carpet weaving in the Kashan region of Iran dates back four hundred years

At that time, the city of Kashan was at the center of Iranian roads, and all convoys were traveling along this route

The first silk carpets in Iran were woven in Kashan and the first silk production center in Iran was Kashan.

Kashan carpet is well known and popular in the world

The design of these carpets is taken from the carpets of the same type and is still made with the same old designs

300 years ago the texture of silk carpets was removed and wool carpets were produced with the highest quality raw materials.

The wool needed for these rugs was first imported from Manchester and after Australia, known as Merinos wool

But nowadays Sabzevar wool is used in northeastern Iran which is very high quality

These carpets have a larger diameter and weight than other Iranian carpets, but the older ones were much finer.

The roots of these carpets are made of cotton and knots of wool or silk

They have little color and map variation and are produced with old designs

These rugs have between 120 and 840 knots per square inch

Their quality is good and the texture is harmonious

Unlike Naiin and Tabriz carpets, these carpets are not washed after weaving, which is why after their first washing their wool turns yellow and the carpet changes slightly, which happens in new carpets.

The dominant color of these rugs is red. The past is red, blue, indigo and green now being used more in bright colors such as cream, white, pale blue and gray.
