Nahavand carpet
Nahavand carpet is being woven in western Iran for 150 years.
Famous drawings of these rugs: eshvand-lachak sefid.
These carpets are mostly woven in this size: 100 * 150 cm and 130 * 190 cm.
Carpets are almost entirely exported to the US, Canada, Germany and Saudi Arabia
These carpets are usually woven in the countryside by women.
Their backgrounds are often black and colors like bright red and orange are used.
The knotting technique of these rugs is similar to Hamedan rugs and comes with long hair and strong texture.

The main characteristics of these carpets, are usually seen only in Nahavand carpets, where the flowers at the margins of the carpets sometimes protrude out of the frame and into the carpet text.
The geometrical designs on these carpets are very well done.
Currently weavers from this area in addition to carpet weaving also work on pictorial carpets which are also good quality.
