The Iranian carpet is handmade, made of wool and has a cotton base. The knitting style and design are characteristic of the Hamadan region in Iran. Wool is natural, like most flowers, and safe.

Hamadan - historical city of Iran. Hamadan carpets represent a rich cultural heritage based on centuries-old traditions and craftsmanship, grown in the villages and cities of the region.

Hamadan carpets represent a diverse range of styles and techniques, each of which reflects the unique features of its place of origin. From complex patterns of famous varieties, such as Hosseinabad and Nahavand, to simpler patterns found in everyday Hamadan carpets, these carpets offer a wide selection for every taste and budget.

Traditionally, these carpets were carefully made using hand-spun yarn, which shows the dedication of craftsmen to their work. Although in modern versions industrial production yarn can be used to save money, the essence of Hamadan's craftsmanship remains deeply rooted in tradition.

Classic color combinations prevail in these carpets, among which blue indigo and red madder stand out. Geometric motifs predominate, although floral patterns also adorn many of these exquisite carpets, adding an additional layer of depth and sophistication.

Old Hamadan carpets, often called "shahr-baf", which are distinguished by excellent quality and durability, deserve special attention. These carpets, woven on a cotton base, are valued for their durability and are very desirable for collectors thanks to their historical significance.

While the traditional craftsmanship of Hamadan carpets remains timeless, modern options meet modern tastes and needs. From traditional homes to modern interiors - these universal carpets add warmth, character, and elegance to any space. The yarn is colored with natural dye. Hamedan carpets appeared about seven hundred years before our era and were traditionally called Hekmatane.
